Curriculum FAST TRACK

The Fast Track Curriculum in the Product Design Study Program is designed to accelerate students’ graduation by allowing them to take courses that are normally offered in the seventh semester earlier. In the fifth semester, students are required to take elective courses that are typically offered in the seventh semester, resulting in a total of 23 credits (SKS) in semester V. Similarly, in the sixth semester, students take additional elective courses from semester VII, bringing the total credits to 22 SKS in semester VI. By doing so, students can fulfill the minimum credit requirement of 125 SKS by the end of the sixth semester (third year), enabling them to graduate earlier than those in the regular program. In this track, the courses from the first to the fourth semester are the same as those in the regular curriculum, with differences beginning from the fifth to the eighth semester.

In the curriculum structure Fast TrackIn the fifth semester, students are required to select one of the elective courses offered in the seventh semester, namely Elective Option 4: Toys and Games Design, Pilihan 5: Wearable Design, atau Pilihan 6: Vehicle Design. As a result, the total number of courses taken up to that semester becomes 24. This is important as a measure to ensure that students meet the minimum total Fast Track credit requirement, which is at least 125 SKS by the end of the sixth semester, or the end of the third year.

By taking elective courses that are normally scheduled for the seventh semester in the fifth semester, this curriculum structure provides students with the opportunity to complete more courses earlier in their studies, thereby allowing them to finish their program in a shorter time. Taking these seventh-semester electives in the fifth semester also has practical implications for meeting the minimum credit (SKS) requirements. Fast Track by the end of the sixth semester, or the end of the third year, students can benefit from accelerated completion of their studies without compromising the quality of their education.

In the sixth semester, students will take courses according to the regular curriculum structure, totaling 18 SKS, plus the Citizenship and Pancasila course from the eighth semester. Thus, in the sixth semester, Fast Track students will take a total of 22 SKS. This structure is designed to ensure that students Fast Track meet the necessary academic requirements, including taking courses at times that correspond appropriately with students’ progress within the curriculum.
