Product Design was established on November 10, 1992, when the status of the Product Design Institution was still included in the Bandung Institute of Art and Design (STISI) Bandung.

In 2010, STISI Bandung merged with Telkom and changed its name to STISI Telkom.

Since August 14, 2013, Product Design has transformed into one of the study programs at the Faculty of Creative Industries, Telkom University
